| Mountain Beadworks is a service-oriented store committed to offering a growth-enhancing experience for beaders, and those who wish to discover or expand their creativity. Located west of Main Street Julian, we are easily reached from all areas of San Diego in about an hour. Since opening in 2004, we have become a San Diego County destination for beaders, crafters and tourists, drawing students from many parts of Southern California, Arizona, and Mexico. Our store showcases hand-selected and unusual beads. We offer activities/instruction for individuals, groups, and families. Our comfortable and supportive environment promotes and encourages learning through knowledge, professional skills and personalized attention, and by offering daily opportunities for discovery and growth. Classes are scheduled up to 5 times a week and we frequently add on classes to meet individual requests. Most projects are completed by the end of the class, and lunch is a free benefit of most classes. Mountain Beadworks offers a wide variety of beading activities, creative opportunities, and events, in one of our 2 classrooms and also off site. We have extensive experience designing/teaching projects to large groups (up to 175 Girl Scouts at one time,) providing instructional fun for corporate Holiday parties, teaching beading classes as a County of San Diego vendor, promoting beading as a wellness activity, offering scheduled and impromptu private instruction, designing esteem-building activities for school children, disabled adults, seniors, church groups and scouting troops, and offering employer-supported outings, birthday/celebratory gatherings, and fun/educational opportunities for families living near, or visiting the San Diego area. Our classes and activities have been shared with men, women and children, ages 5 to 101! In the Spring of 2010, we opened up an additional 850 square feet of space called Mountain Beadworks Activity and Learning Center. This additional area is used as classroom and event space for up to 45 people for multidisciplinary exploration, discovery and growth. It is available for use by outside groups. We heartily welcome everyone who wants to learn and share the art and craft of beading. We are “the place to bead inspired” and we want to grow your creativity! |

| The shop originated as a business venture to eliminate a lengthy commute for long time Julian locals, Patty and Dale Strong. It quickly became their passion. Today, over 6 years later, their passion has turned to a mission to promote creativity through knowledge and support. To them, it's not about the beads. It's about the people! You will see one or both of them in the store most days, sharing their passion, wisdom, insights and encouragement. Lili and Ana may also be there, offering their love of art, the craft, and creative exploration. You will also be lovingly and gently greeted by Patty and Dale's "Golden Greeters," Winston and Ruby, and Bekah, their Black Beauty. |
